UCISA Managers' Forum: Improving the user experience through identity driven portals
Date: 16 October 2007
Venue: St Anne's College, Oxford
The student experience is becoming increasingly important within the higher education sector. Technology can play its part by enabling an environment in which people, processes, and technology interact seamlessly to provide measurable performance improvement and a better educational experience. It has become clear that there is widespread demand for powerful integrated solutions that can offer institutions a better and more coordinated approach to identity management. Such solutions should better enable you to provide your staff, students (current and prospective), and partners access to a wide range of critical resources, and facilities with a common set of credentials, via a single point of entry, both on and off campus.
Speakers from SunGard Higher Education and Salford Software will be joined by representatives from the University of Greenwich and the University of Leeds who will describe how their institutions have benefited from a portal driven approach. The event is intended to also provide a better understanding of the power of an integrated identity management solution in relation to the key business issues facing your institution, including student recruitment, retention and performance management.

SunGard Higher Education European User Group
Date: 9-11 January 2008
Venue: University of Salford, UK
The SunGard Higher Education European User Group (SEUG) is a community of institutions in UK, Ireland and Europe which have an affinity based on their use of various SGHE products and services. The group has a wide range of members ranging from business schools to top red brick universities to colleges and vocational training institutes of all sizes. The members, who range in their roles from registrars to database technical staff, meet regularly to share their knowledge and experience in the best use of SunGard's systems. The highlight of the year is a 2-3 day user conference hosted by one of the members. The user group is self funding and managed entirely by the membership and various committees. A single representative of each institution in the community sits on the EAG (European Advisory Group) which meets frequently in the year to advise SunGard on strategy and various aspects of products and services.
